when trying to create account I get this....

    when trying to create account I get this....

     your computer is currently unable to connect to the internet please try again later.

     

    yet the connectivity test says passed??? I dont get this.

    This sounds more like a problem on your end, rather than ooVoo's. Are you using a Wireless connection? If so make sure you are close enough to the router. Make sure you don't have any spyware/virus's on your computer etc. ( Try ad-aware ) If your hardwired make sure you CAT5 ( network cable ) isn't going bad.

    You really need to give us more information. Are you able to get on the Internet in other ways, IE Internet Explorer/Firefox etc. Does this happen with other programs?

     You may want to update to the latest drivers. Also give the modem a reset. If you are using something like the new virizon FIOS it has problems with wireless routers due to the baud rate. ( Linksys actully )  Go threw all the 101 stuff and see if it helps.

    ya its a hard wired computer.

     

    funny you should ask if its wireless cause on my laptop it works fine!

     

    its been weird lately because skypcast webpage hasnt been loading for me unless I change my LAN to another ip besides 192.168.0.104

     

    im fairly knowledgabe with computers but this baffles me.  i even opened up ports for oovoo on main computer. windows firewall off and using the router to pen the ports.

     

    ya everything else works fine internet etc etc.  weird inst it? especially skypecast webpage not loading.

    Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Hmm that is strange. Well first let's start with the Skypecast page. It almost doesn't work for anybody LOL depends on the day really. Even if the page does show up, you can't get into a cast 9 times out of 10. Now as for the other error. What type of Internet connection do you have? Like I said if you have Verizon FIOS it has some problems. Do you have other toolbars on your IE like google toolbar, yahoo toolbar etc, things like this can cause problems. One thing you may want to try, is downloading Opera. http://www.opera.com/ That is the browser that I use. If you are able to use that browser to download ooVoo without a problem then you will know its an Internet explorer setting. However if you still can't download, then you will know that its either a router/modem/ or network card problem. Let me know how it goes, thanks for being patient. Chris

    np man its great to have any help i can get. and its not like ur making money from me lol.  

     

    internet modem is westell

    router is dlink

     

    i use mozilla

    its  not mozilla cause i know now its a lan ip setting.  whether or not this program or skype is to blame for apparent conflict i dont know

     

    oh and there never was a problem downloading oovoo. only connecting to create account.

    Man, you've almost got me stumped here. I don't see why changing your local IP address would make a difference.

    The fact that it only happens with ooVoo makes me wounder if its a problem on their side. I know that every so often my ooVoo will log out for no reason at all. But ooVoo knows about this and is working on it.

    Well I'm going to suggest 2 more things, one try upgrading your router firmware. If you are having IP problems for whatever reason, that could very well be the problem. Type your model number in Google along with "firmware" and see what you can find. Or go directly to Dlinks website. Just make sure when you flash the routers firmware that you only do while plugged directly in, ( which you seem to be ) and DO NOT turn off the power, or you will brick the thing.

    2nd, give ooVoo's tech support a quick email to find out if its a problem on their side. Let me know how it goes. Also have you tried signing up again? have you tried doing it in IE just for the heck of it?

    I'll also make sure to forward this to the billing department :D

    well im now logging in on my computer with lanip 192.168.0.107

    granted im using the account created by my laptop.

     

    1. i am using updated router firmware

    2. i dont think its a browser issue as IE couldnt load skypecast beta webpage either with 104 lanip/

     

    soo all in all its settled on my end. its working just need some friends to test it out with.

    That is strange my freind. Well I am glad that you got everything sorted out! One more suggestion before you leave though, if its only one IP address that seems to never work, you may want to check in your router that the QOS isnt stopping/slowing anything.     Go into your router. Inside you should find some QOS settings. This is used for limiting traffic on certain mac/ip address's.
