    oovoo crash...even after update?

Hey everyone! i am a new Mac user and new to oovoo. I am using a 13" macbook pro with a 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4GB RAM. The first time i installed oovoo and ran it everything worked fine and i was able to use oovoo normally. However, two days later, I started having a problem with oovoo crashing as soon as i launched it. I get a glimpse of the oovoo sign in screen and then it crashes. every time..without fail. No dialog box or error message at all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled countless times to different locations on my Mac but to no avail. I opened a terminal to see if the Java was going bad and here's what came up: [000:028] MagicCam 0: Current process: JavaApplicationStub, Flash is loaded: no [000:028] Error(magiccammac.cc:276): MagicCam 0: MagicCamOpen: Not an allowed process! ..........try deleting MagicCam (or MacCam)and see if this helps. Looks like there is a conflict.

Hmm...makes sense..I just have to find the files for it. :) I actually took my laptop on travel and tried it with another WiFi connection and it worked... MagicCam might be only one of the problems. Is there a way that my home network could be getting in the way? Thanks for all your help, Asad

May be you could see if there is an updated version of that software MagicCam is available that might be compatible with oovoo ?

...Check your wireless router settings. See if there is any restriction on streaming video.

    Hi Scott,

I am happy to hear that you have enjoyed using ooVoo in the past and hope this problem you are experiencing can be resolved quickly but we may need some more information…

I'm not sure why your MAC would work great with ooVoo in the past and now it crashes. Obviously something must have changed during this time period.

If any additional software like MacCam or MagicCam was installed, please note that this software prevents ooVoo from using the webcam and causes it to crash. In this case you can remove the components. For example, to remove MacCam componetns, go to your ‘Home’ disk, click ‘Library’, click Quicktime and remove the MacCam components. For other similar software programs, they may need to be uninstalled from within their folders.

If you think it’s something else, please send us a support request with logs.

    To enable logs:
    * From the ooVoo menu select ‘Preferences’ and then go to ‘Support’ tab.
    * Check the 'Enable Logs' checkbox and click ‘Save’.
    * Close the program completely (ooVoo > Quit ooVoo).
    * Run ooVoo again, start a video call, and after the video call disconnects, send us the logs. To find the logs: Go to the support tab settings tab again and click ‘Open folder’ and send us the log files.
Note: Please add any information which might be helpful. For example, when disconnected from the video call, does ooVoo also sign out?

    Thanks,
    ooVoo Marv
