    Re: MAC alpha test

Thanks for the much anticipated mac client.... I just got out of my first video conference with 4 people in CA, KY and Prague and the mac client worked flawlessly. Little bit of lag but I had expected that.

The only problem I noticed: I have an external Logitech Quickcam pro 5000 as well as a built-in isight camera, and when going into the preferences->camera screen I had two cameras listed: 'IIDC FIrewire Video' and 'USB Video Class Video'. However, when I test the cameras they both displayed the picture of the built-in isight.  I had to go into the camera settings for the USB Video camera and change the source to "Logitech Camera" first before I could view  the Logitech video stream. But after that I could videoconference just fine with the Logitech cam. So just a little confusing to set up but in the end it still worked.

Another minor thing: even though I had turned the camera off in the meeting, I wasn't able to go into the preferences screen and change or test a camera during that meeting... It kept saying 'camera in use' while strictly speaking it wasn't in use at all. I had to exit the meeting entirely before I was able to tweak the camera settings.

overall nothing critical. We all agreed that Oovoo kicks Skype's ass for video calls.

Hello, I have test a bit from ooVoo! I get some bugs. example.. Dock-icon. I cannot see it after I have click on ooVoo or use it. And If I add two groups in my ooVoo so logout it out and i got "The connection was lost" or if I add a group and logout and login so are there not a new group as i just added! And I cannot "Send video message" to someone. Maybe we can have key to do thing in ooVoo, example "cmd + L" = LogOut! I have not some more now. but I will send more if i come on something!

    Re: MAC alpha test

Hi ooVoo, I m trying this out with my mac friend. I have iMac with built-in isight and when start connecting video chat it keeps crashes. I went to test my webcam via oovoo preference and the camera screen is blue! My webcam works well with ichat etc but not ooVoo. So I have tried on my other mac ibook with isight (not built-in) and it work well but not fast (maybe cos its not intel) or smoother as iChat! Have you tested on a mac with built-in sight? Got any suggestion why does this happens? Thanks. Cheers Tobstar

Hello guys, I just downloaded it, and tried it with otehr two users in video chat, it worked great, we all three were in Italy, the connection was absolutely amazing, and I don't see many bugs.

To me the isight on my MBP is working properly, just I can't understand how to send video messages, but this morning a windows user sent me a video message and I was able to watch it. If someone knows how to create and send video messages, please let me know.

    Thanks.

    Hi all,

Glad you are enjoying the alpha version of ooVoo for MAC. At this time ooVoo MAC doesn't support video messaging currently. We will provide an update when its available.

Oh ok, first of all I wanna thanks you to have put me inside this Beta tester program, it's absolutely amazing. Just wanna let you know that sometimes it gets stucked while being opened in stand by.

Hope you can fix all the little problems, mac users are really waiting it impatiently, they all think it's much better then the Apple Ichat.

I think Mac Users are gonna enjoy it with the new Leopard OSX.

     Thanks.

Thats rigth.. I feel ooVoo is better than IChat. Because of my deaf friends user ooVoo! But I have a question about how we know when it have a update. Must we check everyday on "Help" -> "Check for update" or say it automatic that we are need update? And can we know when the next update or have your a develop page there we can get information about develop or "changelog" for ooVoo for mac version?
