Upgrade/Installation failure: "The installed version of the application could not be determined" message

I've had oovoo on my computer for a while, worked fine. However, I recently tried logging on again and a window popped up asking me to upgrade to the newest version, I hit upgrade and then a screen came up with the red X that said "The installed version of the application could not be determined. The application will now terminate" to which the only thing I could do was to hit ok.

I then uninstalled it completely off my computer thinking I'd just reinstall it again, but now whenever I reinstall it, it'll get to the Oovoo install wizard, almost finish loading, and the box will appear again.

What's going on and how can i fix this?

    Thanks

    Hi SpookyXO,

    Give his a try:

    Please follow the instructions below:

       1. Go to My Computer, click on your C drive.

       2. Click on the Program Files folder

    1. Select and rename the folder 'InstallShield Installation Information' to 'InstallShield Installation Information_'.
    2. If you can't find that folder, please open the Tools menu of your Windows browser> select Folder Options and move to the View tab. Select the 'Show hidden files and folders' radio button. Save and you should see the folder and rename it.
    3. Now, try to uninstall ooVoo and re-install the new version.

Please let us know if you the problem persists.

    Best Regards,
