    Looking for your stories

We are obviously keen to promote the usage of ooVoo and are often asked by members of the popular media to provide examples of how ooVoo is used. Please feel to free to share your experiences and stories of how you stayed connected with friends, family and co-workers using ooVoo here in the forums or if you would prefer by email to philip.robertson@ooVoo.com.

-- Have you spoken with five other family members for a celebration?

-- Was a special occaision shared on ooVoo?

-- Do you chat with your loved one (or two) for hours every night?

-- Do you see your grandchildren grow on ooVoo?

-- Did you negotiate a deal or communicate a new plan to multiple colleagues around the country or world?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

As you guys know, I am a big fan of ooVoo. We use it all the time on my community site Ratpack's Lair and generally have at least 4 video's going. We are looking into ooVoo Karaoke one night, may need a couple of drinks first but should be fun. Set up Karaoke DVD running on a PC with the cam showing screen (logged into ooVoo of course) and invite others in....lmao.

Sounds terrifying. I'll be sure to send you an advanced copy of the recording conversation feature for the karaoke challenge ;)

Saving money using ooVoo now. Who needs a phone when you have ooVoo.

Every few weeks a group of us get together using ooVoo and have 5 hour+ video chats.(We have no life....lol) We are from all over Australia and sort out PC problems and have a general chat and a bit of fun.

TimmieTheGeek here (I can't seem to get rid of the "VTX Rider" moniker...).

I have connected with some new friends in Australia and look forward to the weekend when our 16 1/2 hour time differences allow us to share in a video chat.  I also converse with my brother-in-law in Kansas City (USA) and ooVoo let's him enjoy a video visit with his 96-year-old mom who lives nearby me.  While I don't think she embraces the technology as much as the rest of us, she hasn't seen fit to have us all committed yet either so we're having a good time with ooVoo.

I continue to get other folks interested and trying ooVoo.  Soon we will have a loyal gang keeping the bandwidth pegged here in southern Indiana.  A couple old Army buddies in New Mexico are avid MAC users and look forward to using ooVoo when that version is available.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

    Re: Looking for your stories

ooVoo really rocks and I manage to spend a lot of time enjoying it and telling everyone about it.  One drawback though is that when I share a video session with the folks "down under", it's a bit frustrating to view!

Oh, send me a note when you get this off the ground!  I have not done karaoke in ages!!

We are using oovoo to practice conversation classes in Esperanto every Tuesdays at 22:30 UTC at beginner level. On saturdays and sundays the conversation are free for advance speakers. We created a page with instructions in esperanto and portuguese.

    Re: Looking for your stories

Oovoo phone calls saved me much when calling my relatives in the US. It's now May 13 and free calls are gone according to Oovoo website, although I haven't try calling my mother yet. I will upgrade my messenger to the new version.

    How I use Oovoo

Well first let me say you guys are having way too much fun on the Oovoo site!  Some really creative ideas going on out there!

Let me start by saying I have a retired mum who is volunteering in South Africa (ghettos of Pretoria to be more precise) and I want to communicate with her and this site is head and shoulders above anything else I have seen so far.  I first started using webcam when I moved from Australia to Japan and wanted to stay in touch to make sure she was alright - and to make sure she didnt forget to send over Australian tim-tam supplies when I got sick of japanese candy   :)

My retired mum right now has some amazing stories about the crime and squalor - awesome that I can visit and talk with her but not have to brave the trip to her safe compound to meet with her (not that Im scared or nuthin'!).

I am embarrassed to say that another motivation for me signing up for this is to help build my business (or, as Phillip asked, to communicate to multiple colleagues/clients around the world) - to put it in a oversimplified nutshell, I specialize in 1-1 and small group online/live personal training/pre-habilitation for desk jockeys and weekend warriors - yeah, thats the short version... It sounds fancier than what it is, which is really just making people sweat without hurting them and hopefully make them stand straighter in the process - not that the hunchback deskbound look isnt totally in fashion right now ;)

I have been using other resources to train people around the world from my living room using a webcam connection (which always totally spins people out when I tell them about this - I am sure you guys get the same amazement when you tell people about this stuff).

for doing this exercise stuff, this site has everything I could need!  If any of guys fellas would like to try out a session for free just dig out the old sneakers and give me an oovoo! (richard simmons spandex and afro hairdo optional, ok?)

By the way, Is 'oovoo' some metaphorical anagram of 'cooee'?  Maybe a dyslexic aussie bushman call?

    Cheers guys

    Jamie
