Re: problem of java to the starting of oovoo/Architecture error

Install ooVoo on the Desktop and not in the Application folder, and after drag & drop into the Application folder. This should fix things. This problem may be caused by permissions:Please check the following:Find the ooVoo file, right click on it and select 'Show package content' --> double click to open the 'Contents' folder and then the 'Resources' folder --> Right click on the Java folder and select 'Get info' from the menu. Click on 'Ownership and permissions'. Do you see 'Read & write' permission or ‘Read only’? If it's Read only, try changing it to Read & write, then try opening it.

Please let us know if this does the trick.

We will fix this in the next version.

    Best Regards,
    ooVoo Dave

Re: problem of java to the starting of oovoo

All After upgrading to the latest Apple released version of Java for OSX (I run 10.5.6) I was no longer able to start ooVoo. I get the following message: 3/9/09 7:44:06 AM JavaApplicationStub[65482] AppKitJava: uncaught exception WebKitThreadingException (objc_object* -[WebView initWithFrame:frameName:groupName:](WebView*, objc_selector*, NSRect, NSString*, NSString*) was called from a secondary thread) 3/9/09 7:44:06 AM JavaApplicationStub[65482] AppKitJava: exception = objc_object* -[WebView initWithFrame:frameName:groupName:](WebView*, objc_selector*, NSRect, NSString*, NSString*) was called from a secondary thread 3/9/09 7:44:06 AM JavaApplicationStub[65482] AppKitJava: terminating. 3/9/09 7:44:06 AM com.apple.launchd[195] ([0x0-0x10a10a].ooVoo[65482]) Exited with exit code: 1 I have tried removing ooVoo and re-installing including installing to the desktop as recommended in this thread ... all to no avail. I still cannot start ooVoo since the last Apple Java update. Also, when I performed the re-install, I did it using a fresh download from the ooVoo download site. Any help will be appreciated Brian

Hi Dave I followed your procedure and my Java folder already had 777 permissions with my user ID as the owner. I look forward to the next release. Brian

To bdimambro: While a bit late in posting, the solution would be to replace ooVoo's JavaApplicationStub with the updated one in OS X. Copy the file in /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/A/Resources/MacOS/ titled "JavaApplicationStub," and overwrite the one found in /Applications/ooVoo/Contents/MacOS/.
