    Sign In Problem

Friend of mine has ooVoo. All worked fine until he downloaded update. Since then he can't sign in to ooVoo. Tried everything including uninstall & reinstall. Even system restore. Wher's the problem? Connection test fails but he is connected to internet. Tried reinstalling with firewall turned off. LAN settings OK. OS Windows Home Edition. PC EMachines.

    Re: Sign In Problem

hello, this is Sondra, and I have found your message through google when I typed oovoo sign in problem.

Your forum showed up and it is same experience that I am having it right now.  I am having that problem that I could not able to access the oovoo program right now.  I even contacted with oovoo support many times and my daughter typed those messages for me.  She tried to help me to figure it out, but we have no clue how to access oovoo again.  My daughter did uninstall and reinstall over and over again.

I also had a Verizon guy to come over and observe those problems.  He said the oovoo, itself, is having problem and it is nothing to do with other programs inside of my computer.  I don't understand why I cannot able to sign in, and it said failed.  I even checked settings, then connection, and tested those connection.  It said passed, but it refused to sign in... My daughter did explain everything clear to the support, but they don't really help much and thought it was something with firewall.  It was not even something wtih firewall.

I would appreciate if you can help me and maybe if your friend or you have figured out.  I would appreciate it so much from you if you can help me and figure what's going on.  Thank you so much again.

    -Greetings:

    Sondra

    Re: Sign In Problem

Sometimes there are problems with the Internet and ooVoo fails to sign in. In this case, ooVoo will try to sign in again automatically every so often. If you are impatient like me, then simply click on the ‘Sign in’ button and if it doesn’t work the first time, then try again in a few minutes or wait until you are signed in automatically.

For some users there are firewall related problems. In this case, solutions are available in our knowledgebase in the support center part of the website.

    Best regards,
    Marvin

    Re: Sign In Problem

hello this is  sondra. i m so tired of telling me about firewall again and again. i did deleted firewall but oovoo don t work to sign on. nothing works without firewall or other programs.  my telephone company Verizon man told me that he investigated everything and he said it has something to do with oovoo program to affect to sign on. i heard that lots of people are complaining about this situation about oovoo system. i don t think u are really want to help people how to do right or don t help us to set it up right. at first i had firewall for years and i didnt have any problem with setting up on oovoo to sign on for almost one year but now it appears that it said connection failed from oovoo.  please do your own investigation on your program and find out why it is not doing right system. i m tired of hearing this over and over as same messages from oovoo employees who send me same messages again and again.

    Re: Sign In Problem

...disconnections are not part of this problem. This is something different. When you are having disconnections please do the following:

Please do a qualitative bandwidth test:

    http://myvoipspeed.visualware.com/

(You may have to download java if you don’t have it)

Please click on Dulles, Virginia (Near Washington DC, USA) when the world map loads.

When the new page loads please click “Click to start test” between the green bars.

Then let the test run (It takes a little while), and when things stop moving, click on the “Summary” tab on the left. This tab has a traffic light on it.

Once the test has run you will receive either a Green light, a Yellow light or a Red light on 5 different criteria:

    Download bandwidth,
    Upload bandwidth,
    Quality of Service,
    Jitter, and
    Packet Loss

Let me know if you get any Yellow or Red lights on the above criteria. Also, please let me know what your Upload, Download and Quality of Service scores are.

Please let me know what you find out.

    Best Regards,
    ooVoo Dave

    Re: Sign In Problem

Hi I have an oovoo account, but I haven't open my account for almost 2 yrs from now or more.  But I just don't remember my password, and I just don't like to fool around with this anymore. I just don't have time. And some unknown person sending me some very graphic feature, and sexually harrassing me. So I just decided to close this account from oovoo. Please reply me or if you can delete it for me.  I also have a problem signing in. My email add: dickersonmee@yahoo.com.  Thanks

    Re: Can't Connect

    Hi Philip,

Sorry to hear about these difficulties. What do you think has caused your sudden blockage? If Verizon is your ISP, you may want to contact them and ask why you cannot reach a website.

Are you able to Sign in?

    Best Regards,
    ooVoo Dave

Hello, I have the same problem: I had install ooVoo, it worked, but after 5 minutes logged me off, and I can’t log in can’t enter ooVoo site and also can’t log in Google Talk, and some sites, where authentication is necessary. I have not any firewall. The only thing that helped (after uninstalling the program, formatting disk C and setting windows) was router reset. It seems ooVoo make some changes in connection options in router. Anybody can explain how I can to trace these changes, please.
