    effects

I cannot get effects. I right-clicked on myself during a conversation and chose install. It completed and after that I couldn't select effects. I don't see any effect options anywhere. I reinstalled everything but the effect option still can't be found anywhere.

    Re: effects

    Hi loccie,

It does depend on which version of oovoo client you have installed on your system. If your system is WINDOWS then you need to also have an effects program installed on your system called webcammax. You can download it for free, and use it for 30 day's if like the effects program you can register it, to use it for much longer without seeing the "webcammax banner ad tag" constantly.

If your system is a MAC then that version of oovoo will NOT have the effects included, because webcammax isn't supported on MAC's !

P.S - It would also be a great idea if oovoo also had a plugin feature similar to webcammax for another EFFECTS program which is "TOTALLY FREE" that is called MANYCAM.

    Re: effects

Just a note on Webcam Max video effects. When you download this program it says 30 day trial. I have had this program installed since the release of ooVoo 1.5 and the effects are still working in ooVoo without any Webcam Max logo etc showing up.

    Re: effects

In order for the effect to be seen, you have to select an effect providing your showing live video from your connected webcam as your main source. It does depend if your showing a overlayed animated effects, or a static picture, or a static picture that is overlayed.

    Re: effects

    @Boss,

The older previous versions of webcammax will show and display "30 day's trial" period overlayed ontop of your own video. The newer versions will have display a green text "webcammax.com logo" instead. That's because the user has decided not to register the software hence the logo is constantly shown.

    Re: effects

Hmm, I don't have a webcam, maybe this is the problem. I want to show what I'm doing on my screen instead of seeing me on my webcam. A friend of my said it's possible and I think I've seen other people do it.

    Re: effects

If that's the case why you haven't asked your friend to let you how he/she had done it?

I must point out, that at the beginning of your first post you said this > "I cannot get effects. I right-clicked on myself during a conversation and chose install. It completed and after that I couldn't select effects. I don't see any effect options anywhere. I reinstalled everything but the effect option still can't be found anywhere."

And now you say, you don't have a webcam, hmmm which is it?

I'm a bit confuse by what some users want, if they just take the time and read what is already docummented within various threaded sites, and in this, and other forum program forum sites. You'll have a much better understanding of how those programs work.

He said he did it with the effects which I can't get. I watched a video tutorial on how to do it but for me the enable effects button is disabled.

    Re: effects

Have you had a look and read/study what is on the webcammax forum?

You can only enable those effects from within webcammax ifself, not via oovoo, oovoo is only triggered by whatever effects that webcammax it has enabled within it.

BTW: What is your system spec... OS, CPU, RAM ?

You can see my gaming rig here. :)

Well ehm, can you link me to something that could help me with my problem. I can put all the effects in webcammax but the problem is that it's not connecting with oovoo.

Well it seems quite obvious by what you said above about that webcammax is working fine alone. But you have a problem not seeing those effect within oovoo. However, if you have a good look around you might find a thread with a post that I had posted a few weeks ago. On how to activate those effects within oovoo. I presume and I'm guessing that you want to screen capture those games from your screen to stream them to your other oovoo participant.

I don't want to spend too much time on this same issue if users can't be bothered to read and study what is available in this, and other forums of how to greater understand how a program works, and get the benefits of improving their knowledge for the better.

    fortra:

Updated information I have done some test and I have managed to get webcammax to work within oovoo and it works great....

Although the webcammax capture driver isn't shown listed with all the other camera drivers, and webcam program that I have installed. While in a video chat mode, all you have to do is rightclick mouse button on your own video window to activate "Turn On Video Effects" which will trigger webcammax plugin within oovoo ifself. And this is done without initially running webcammax at all.

You mean this? Well the right-clicking doesn't show anything that has something to do with effects, that's the problem.

    Re: effects

Right-click within your own video chat session window will activate that webcammax plugin within oovoo. If yours isnt working then its something to do with your system that is preventing it from working.

You still haven't fully explained what it is your trying to do?

    Re: effects

Well anything I can do? Or is it hopeless? The only thing else I can say is that the first time I could download the effects by right clicking but after the download the effect option disappeared. I want to show people my screen.
