We are having a blast with the video conference and chat. We connected (from Eugene, Oregon) with our daughter in Guatamala (from an internet cafe) and had my brother join us from Seattle. Very cool. My daughter and I gossiped about my brother via 'chat' during our video conversation. ha. I did get a little cramped for space when I started opening up links sent back and forth.
All in all, very easy to set up. I found it intuitive and forgiving. Our connections initially had about a 1 to 2 second delay in speech and choppy-delay video -- both of these corrected after about 1 to 2-minutes and it was smooth from then on. The video resolution reflected the quality of our cameras. My MacBook Pro was grainy, my daughter's camera projected a clear image, beautiful.
The sound quality was low using just my internal speakers. It was easy to adjust the internal microphone by going into ooVoo preferences.
