iSight video glitches

    iSight video glitches

    I have a MacBook and when I "test my webcam" (iSight) everything's fine. When I send a video message, everything (audio and video) works. My trouble is with the video call.  I have audio, but I can not activate my camera.  The camera icon has a red line through it. I've been all over the forums and blogs on this can can't find resolution.  Yes, I've double-checked settings. Yes, I've restarted it (a few times). Yes, I can see and hear the person on the other end of the conversation.  Yes, my iSight works just fine (per iChat and Skype...which I quit before launching this app). Any suggestions?

    I have identical symptoms on all 3 of my Macs: Mac Pro with an external camera, Macbook Air with built-in isight and a Mac Book with isight. All three are at OS X 10.5.6

    scanning the forum messages I found a reference to the Privacy settings in Oovoo Preferences. You MUST set "start video when a call is initiated" (text approximate, near the bottom of the panel) or Oovoo does not do what it is supposed to do. Oh, and apparently the default is "OFF". I have tested two of my three systems so far and that has fixed the problem for them.
