Do you know of a Wireless IP (802.11x) camera that works with ooVoo?

Will the "AXIS Video Capture Driver" allow Avis camera's to be used with ooVoo?

We are trying to position the camera further than 16 feet from the computer. USB over ethernet did not work well.

PLS,PLs,PLS I ve been using oovoo for 2 years now and its awesome because I talk to deaf people!@!! Could you please add oovoo features*EMOTICONS* the only way I like more skype are the emoticons !!! Isn't muck (I thing so) It would be awesome!!!
I have friends who installed OovoO they liked it but they deleted it because it didn't had emoticons???

Hi,

I am pleased to announce that we just released a new Beta version (ooVoo version 2.2.3.14 for Windows appears at the bottom of the page). It includes a new audio/video wizard to fine tune your equipment.

At the same time we have expanded our pay-per-use phone service to include many more international destinations (available in all ooVoo versions but you may need to sign-out and then sign-in again). In Europe we added France and Russia, in the Middle East we added Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, in the Far East we added China and India and in South America we added Brazil.

oovoo v2.2.2.19 need permanently update to v2.2.2

hello, team.

I use ooVoo from the begin on and it is a good work. But after i upgrade to v2.2.2.19 now alltime comes a stupide window when i startup the computer and says i have to upgraded to v2.2.2. Is ooVoo to stupid for notized my upgrading ???? this nervs me and solong i have alltime close now this stupid thing i use better the skype. i hope you can change this nerving window and ican use ooVoo again. tkanks

Anyway - after few Hours and few Newstarts ooVoo works fine now.

I think I can speak for everyone here at ooVoo and tell you that we are very excited that Windows 7 is out and are pleased that ooVoo already supports it!

Leave webcam comments on blog etc.?

Does Oovoo support webcam comments, similar to Riffly.com?

In other words, can a user leave a video comment(one-way, without having to chat with somebody) on a blog and have it saved, embedded on an HTML page?

Hello!

I`m a new user on ooVoo and i think is grate. But it needs something extra like detaching the video window from the main window and a "Always on top" option. If the window isn`t maximized the video window is too small and the video call is to big and covers other windows

You can now set your ooVoo client to automatically answer when someone calls you. This is an advanced fix and requires you to edit the windows registry.

Using regedit, create a new DWORD entry here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / ooVoo / Settings / Video

Item "AutoAccept" type DWORD value 1

This setting requires ooVoo 2.1 or later.

For example, we are at 6 and I want to mute the sound from a single source. That's missing from this software.

Sidebar view expander idea

With most people now using 19" widescreen monitors or larger, what are the chances of being able to drag the sidebar view so you can get a larger picture, still keeping the view in sidebar?

At least including this feature would allow the user to choose the size of the pics displayed.

Guys,

It would be great to have a list of people who you have invited onto ooVoo and when, just so you don't keep annoying them with the same come and join me message.

If there could be a block that stops a person being invited to joing ooVoo by the same person within a set period of time, I am sure this won't get on anyones nerves. Also prevents ooVoo getting a bad name.

Snapshot Function & ooVoo Update question

i have a question about this point:

To prevent other participants from taking a snapshot of you during the video call, check the first option.

i have checked this Option, but when i talk with my friend he can use the function and can make a snapshot of me !!! (Why !?!!?)

or is this restriction only for calls outside from my ooVoo-contacts !?

Please help me...

2. question: When i look at the ooVoo download site i see Version 1.5.1.97 für Windows, but my ooVoo client v1.5.1.93

doesent see the new Update...

What´s wrong with it ???

but overall: ooVoo is a great tool, better than all other... !!!!

I really deeply support this program because finally it looks like someone want to compete with skype. we have a lot of great options video/audio chat, better than skype offers. Unfortunatelly text messanging is so far not that developed. Do something about it please!!!!!!

take as the example some of the features from skype and MSN. If you combine these two together we will have a perfect messanger.

Well we do not get release notes or version history.

When you click on the update button in the application it returns with you have the latest version, even when the site has a newer version.

How to Broadcast your ooVoo calls to millions in real time

There have been many requests by people who want to broadcast their ooVoo conversation over the internet to many users at the same time. It's pretty easy to do and here are the steps:

1) Download a virtual camera software, there are many out there, but one we have used succesfully here in the test lab at ooVoo is SplitCam (http://www.SplitCamera.com). It's free and stable.

2) Launch splitcam and set the video source to "Desktop".

3) Set the frame rate to 30 FPS and test both interlaced and de-interlaced for highest quality

4) You now have a virtual web camera that looks like a real camera pointed at your desktop. If you have a broadcast solution, then you're all set, just grab this "virtual" video camera as the source for your broadcast. If you don't have a broadcast solution, you can use a free one like uStream.TV (http://www.uStream.tv). At their homepage, click the "broadcast now" button and set up an account.

5) On ustream, you also want to make sure to set the video and audio qualities as high as they will go. uStream allows you to embed your video stream w/ an HTML snippet into your web site and it also allows you to just give the uStream URL for people to watch your broadcast on their web site.

6) Once you have SplitCam and uStream all set up and you're ready to go, you need to launch ooVoo and start your call. Then make the ooVoo window 100% and you'll see that the broadcast shows your whole desktop, but that means it just shows ooVoo since at 100% it takes up your whole desktop. SplitCam doesn't recognize an "extended desktop", so if you use two monitors, you can open up a web browser in your second monitor and see the broadcast of your ooVoo conversation which takes up all of your 1st monitor.

A couple of notes... First this is all free. Second, the quality of uStream isn't the greatest. To really broadcast to many people at the same time in high quality & high resolution, you obviously will need to pay for that service. ooVoo doesn't offer that service right now, but we're looking at providing this in the future. If you send in requests on our feedback page for this, it's more likely to happen... (http://www.oovoo.com//about/feedback.aspx).

Finally, you'll notice that SplitCam comes up in the web cam choices under ooVoo. In this way, if you are in an ooVoo video conference and want to show someone on the video call with you an image, a video file, a web page or whatever you're looking at on your computer, it's very easy to just change from your web cam (logitec or built in cam, or whatever) to the SplitCam virtual camera which is showing a feed of your desktop. Pretty cool, eh?

New new version?

Did an even newer new version get released that I hadn't noticed? The one I downloaded and installed Monday morning was 1.5.1.78. When I look at the download page now, it says 1.5.1.80. If this is a new new, what are the changes/fixes?
