I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems with your webcam.

As a first step, does the camera work in other programs like ichat? If it doesn’t, then you may have a problem with your webcam. If it does, then try to use your webcam in ooVoo in the following three windows:

Test your webcam (File>Test webcam)
Add photo from webcam (File>Edit my ooVoo card)
Record a video message (Actions>Send ooVoo video message)

If the webcam doesn’t work in ooVoo, make sure you are using the latest ooVoo version (Help>Check for update). It’s also a good idea to update your Quicktime software.

If the webcam still doesn’t work, it seems like another application is using the webcam. Open the 'Activity Monitor' from the doc station (or double-click on Macintosh HD, click 'Application' in the left column, scroll-down and click 'Utilities' then select 'Activity Monitor'). Check to see if another application might be using the webcam. If you find the application, select it and click ‘Quit process’ and restart ooVoo.

Camera in use ...

I have two mac computers. #1 MacBook Pro, OS 10.5.6, 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - ooVoo works fine. #2 MacBook, OS 10.4.11, 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - video output does not function, video in is fine. Camera test indicates that camer is in use by another program - however, I have rebooted to make sure nothing else is running and it still will not function (little green light does not come on). I have used this camera for PhotoBooth and other video conferencing software in the past, so I know the camera works.

Ideas?
