We need more information to pinpoint the problem. Based on what you wrote here, it's possible that an advertising banner is causing the problem. If you are not using ver. 2.1.1.71, please install it as this version was optimized for banners.

Please open a support request and include two print screen captures (press the Apple command key + Shift + 3 to get a screen capture).

In the first screen capture, show the Activity Monitor with open applications and the ooVoo Video Call window next to it.

In the second screen capture, show the same Activity Monitor with the ooVoo Video Call window next to it but minimize the video panes inside the Video Call window (this will reduce the CPU usage for the video).

Thanks for your cooperation and we hope we will be able to resolve this issue for you,
Marvin

p.s. One small tip that can help is to lower the frame rate for your camera. Select 'Preferences' from the 'ooVoo' menu and select a lower frame rate from the 'Frame rate' drop down arrow.

This MBA has NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory, and Built-in iSight camera.

When oovoo runs without video conferencing, the CPU usage is jumping between 15% and 35%, and whole system is responsive at ever.

The problem is whenever I open a video conference with anyone, the CPU usage immediately jump to 100% to 110%. When I look at activity monitor, both cores are in extremely high usage, both near 85% to 95% on the graph. The responsiveness of whole system becomes poor. The video is constantly freezing and with high pixelation, and the audio is barely understandable with lots breaking. I tried to lower the video resolution to reduce the problem, but it seems have no effect at all.

The similar problem exists on my MacBook Pro and my wife's MacBook too, just not as just bad. The CPU usage in video conferencing is about 75% to 85% with better video and audio quality and system responsiveness.

Please let me know if there is a solution for this.

Thanks a lot.
