WEBCAM MIIC AND VIDEO FREEZE PROBLEMS

I have been having ongoing problems with the built in mic on a Logictech Ultravision Webcam for Mac. I am connecting to Windows users who get my sound breaking up. When I use the mic test it always fails when used as "unkown microphone" I tried changing setting in Sound Prefs with no luck. I thought it might be feedback from the speakers on my IBook G4 running Tiger so I plugged in a Earphone to the jack on the computer. That didn't work. I have tried 5 different webcams with no success. This my last webcam to try, figuring thaT, WHEN IT SAYS FOR MAC IT WOULD WORK. I've even tried Sightspeed to see if it was program related. No luck Anybody have a suggestion outside of using Windows, which works fine. Thanks Ernie

Mac version considered harmful

Hi,

I have used v1.2.0.88 for Mac and I have to say, with this version you're very likely to scare away new customers instead of winning them. There are two minor things which seem to be normal if you port software from windows, but should be avoided:

- you start the ooVoo experience with bothering the user with an installation process that is completely unneccessary for OS X: drag and drop should suffice here!
- the behaviour of the software is very alpha-like - calls sometimes don't get through (we tested both ways) until I close the program and restart it, four-second delays are normal in conversations, the whole thing just *looks* unfinished.

But there are at least two more things that you really should fix immediately, as they are actually harmful to users' systems/privacy:
- when the user registers, you send them a confirmation email containing their passwort in clear text! If this didn't strike you as wrong when implementing it, perhaps nobody should trust their passwords to you in the first place (btw of course this applies to Windows users as well).
- the thing that bothered me most was that when I configured the application, I set it to start when the OS starts. Well, it does that all right, but it took all other login items out of the list. I had to put them back there manually, which was quite a process and I'm still not sure I've got everything back.

After that last one, I probably won't use your software anymore, but for the sake of all the other users that would have the same sh!t happen to them: please fix it!

Thank you for the answers but I made the checks of authorization and all seems normale.oovoo still does not function. J, have to check oovoo on system 10.4.11 and functions very well.

I have problem with "Start video conversation" and "Start chat session" and "Create a group" and more.. If i click some of these, so I been logout and got the message, "The connection was lost". Do you have the same problem? Or do you ooVoo, know about it problem?
