Leave webcam comments on blog etc.?

Does Oovoo support webcam comments, similar to Riffly.com?

In other words, can a user leave a video comment(one-way, without having to chat with somebody) on a blog and have it saved, embedded on an HTML page?

Webcam not detected but works in test

I have a microsoft lifecam nx 3000. When i first joined i was able to take my profile picture with the camera and i still can. And when i go to test the camera works perfectly. However, the only thing it cant do is when i joined video calls it just shows my picture and say camera not detected. I dont think there is any other application using the camera, but i can never know for sure. Is there any other problem or way to check if other programs are using it?

Webcam will not work no matter what....

The webcam in which I have on my computer will work for everything except ooVoo. I can record on facebook, talk on msn, and talk on AIM. However it will never work for oovoo. When I go to test webcam I click PC cam and no matter what a preview will never show. It is not running in any other programs. Is there a port on firewall that I need to fix. I just want it to work.

Hello, I have tried another software, MagicCamera ver 5.5.0. It has the similar functions like WCM, such as virtual webcam & video effects. But the important thing is magicCamera works under Vista 64 bit! You may take a look at: http://www.shiningmorning.com

ooVoo Connects Kids in Israel

ooVoo is being used by kids in Israel in order to enable them to pass these difficult times in an easier way. More specifically, three bloggers (one from Tel Aviv and two from Ashkelon) have built a blog named www.joinMyLife.co.il in which kids post video messages and text about their feelings of what's going on, as well as getting support from kids that are not living close to the fighting. This blog got many visits and for 24 hours was posted on the Ynet front page (the #1 web site in Israel). We have donated 100 web cameras to this organization to help connect even more kids face-to-face to share their feelings and opinions.

In addition, ooVoo is working on a project with the army which will help wounded soldiers connect with their families over ooVoo when they can’t be together. It makes us feel good that we are doing something positive in this time.

We hope for a peaceful resolution soon and are saddened by the loss of life in Israel and Gaza.

effects won't load

i have installed oovoo and the webcam max thing, but everytime i hit "show video effects window" it doesn't load up... why won't it work?

ps--i have a windows vista

Camera Not Working?!

I downloaded ooVoo about a month ago, but only used it for the first time today. However, even though I was able to talk to someone and see his video, my video didn't work (it just showed my profile picture). I have a built-in 1.3M camera on a Toshiba Satellite A215, and Windows Vista. I tried going to "Settings>Camera" and under "Select a Camera" it said "Windows default device" and "Chicony USB 2.0 Camera". I tried testing both, but neither worked. After looking at some other help topics on this website, I tried switching to "Details>Without Direct Show". But now when I try testing the camera, the window only says "Camera is in use", and the Details don't show up at all!

I have an account on Skype and AIM as well, and my webcam worked just fine. I signed out of both of these when I was testing my webcam on ooVoo. Now when I try to use my webcam without any of these programs (just to take a snapshot), it says it's "Locked by Another Application."

Any suggestions? Please help!

Hi Dave, and thanks for responding!

The minute I connect in a two-person ooVoo video call, my CPU usage zooms to a solid 100% using the Creative Live! Cam Voice camera. If I revert to my 8-year-old Intel USB Video Camera III, I squeak by at 85-90% CPU. I am using an IBM ThinkCentre Celeron 2.0 GHz with 640 MB of RAM on Windows XP Pro and no other applications running. Curiously, with the Creative webcam, system process consumes 45% of CPU and ooVoo consumes the balance. With the Intel cam, system process usage decreases significantly. I have ordered a Logitech 9000 to see if that makes a difference, but have also heard some reports that videoconferencing only works with a dual core processor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
